this weekend had four main tasks. #1 take up the old bedroom floor to reveal the wood floor underneath. That meant de-nailing the floor by hand. I have blisters to prove the work was done.

Task #2: prime the pink bedroom. (hallelujah)!

Task #3: Prime the banister between the kitchen and the living room.

Task #4: Tile the guest bath on the 2nd floor. (Completed by mark & mr. P, start to finish).

This was a successful weekend!

Here are some pictures of other updates:

Mark worked really hard today sanding down the new floor in the kitchen as well as the living room floor. His goal was to put down polyurethane by the end of the day (coat #1 of 3). He reached his goal! The living room floor is darker because of its age but it is really nice!

Today was a BIG day!! Our kitchen floor was installed and two of the three bathrooms have tiling in the works. Once the kitchen floor was installed (beautifully by Tim the Tool Man) we added some wood filler so no seams would show. Once the filler dries you sand it down, we'll continue sanding tomorrow. The upstairs bathroom tile is looking great, the floor got done today (thanks to Kent)! My job today was sanding with a side of scraping. I sanded some of the stairs in our house as well as the living room floor. We have beautiful white oak floors that were once stained darker. We're sanding away the old stain so the living room matches the kitchen's white oak. I started to scrape the bookcases in the living room. I can't believe they were wallpapered, gross! Check out pictures from today below.

Today was day 2 of plastering! Upstairs is done and now work is being done downstairs. Mark and I worked on organizing the garage again since it keeps getting cluttered with work materials. We managed to bring a metal rack that belongs to Mark to the house and now a lot of items are up off of the floor in the garage. Success! We also worked on decorating our house for Halloween. Check out today's pictures below (including a few of our adorable neighbors, Obo & Fletcher).
