Today Mom, Dad and Edy came to Marblehead! While Mom and I were off shopping, Dad, Mark and Mr. P worked on the house. Mr. P has been cleaning the last bedroom (soon to be office) and today Dad and Mark painted the living room and hallway that leads upstairs. Here are some pictures from today.

This weekend, we worked on painting our master bedroom, cleaning the guest bathroom upstairs, and painting the upstairs hallway with primer. We had a special guest visitor: Liz Novacek who happily helped us paint the hallway from PINK to white. Thanks Liz!! Check out recent updates below:

Today's focus was granite! We went to CBS Stone in Winchester to look at slabs of blue flowers. This will fit perfectly in our kitchen! We have white bead-board cabinets with stone like hardware. A lot of our cookware is blue so the counter top really ties everything together. This place was HUGE and has multiple slabs of each color/pattern for you to choose from. We wanted to see the two options of blue flowers so they had this humungous crane on the ceiling that moved the slabs for us. Very cool! Here are some pictures of the granite:

After we arranged for our granite to be installed, we headed to the house to work on the downstairs bathroom. Mark finished painting and put the vanity back in.

We have two mariner's sconces that will be going in this bathroom from Restoration Hardware (Christmas gift-thanks Mrs. P!). Here is a picture of what they look like (from the site). The wire will come off of it:

Here is a picture of the sink we bought for this room as well:

The downstairs bathroom is coming together!

Dad came up this week to help paint the guest bedroom (he calls it his room)! We picked the color Filoli Carriage House by Valspar (a neutral green). This is the room that used to be PINK!:

Great job Dad!

Mark and Mr. P. put in these slate tiles between the door and the kitchen for our mudroom. They need a good washing! We're putting a bench and some coat hooks here in the entryway.

The kitchen is shaping up!:

Until next time!
